Reports
The Reports page provides charts for understanding spending patterns and net worth over time. All charts cover a rolling 12-month window.
Navigate to Reports in the left sidebar.
Spending by Category
A bar chart showing your outflows broken down by budget category for each of the past 12 months.
Reading the chart:
- Each bar represents one month
- Bars are stacked by category, each in a distinct color
- Hover a segment to see the category name and amount for that month
- The legend below the chart identifies each color
Use this to:
- Spot months where a category spiked (a large vet bill, a travel month)
- Compare spending patterns across seasons
- Identify categories worth setting a goal on
Income vs Expense
A grouped bar chart comparing total inflows and outflows per month.
Reading the chart:
- Two bars per month: income (green) and expenses (orange/red)
- The gap between them is your net savings for that month
- Months where expenses exceed income are immediately visible
Use this to:
- Track whether you're consistently saving each month
- Identify months where you overspent and why
- Build a picture of your average monthly surplus before setting savings goals
Net Worth
An area chart showing the sum of all account balances over the past 12 months.
Reading the chart:
- One data point per month — the combined balance across all accounts on the last day of that month
- Upward trend = net worth increasing
- Dips correspond to large expenses or debt payoffs
Use this to:
- See long-term financial progress at a glance
- Correlate net worth changes with budget events (large purchase, bonus month)
- Set context for savings goals
Data Scope
All reports pull from cleared and reconciled transactions only. Uncleared transactions (pending bank imports, unconfirmed review inbox items) are excluded to keep charts accurate.
The 12-month window is a rolling window ending at the current month — it does not align to a calendar year. January reports look the same as July reports.
